Our Philosophy

At Lilium Village, we provide an emergent curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and is based on the ever-changing interests of the children. We strive to lead children to feel confident and passionate about their God-given gifts and talents.

Our centre is committed to creating a safe and loving space while remaining informed of innovative and effective approaches to childcare. As educators, our role is to encourage children to build a strong sense of self-worth by providing an inclusive, safe, responsive and positive learning environment.

Our centre provides natural and holistic areas both indoors and outdoors for children to discover. Learning opportunities are designed to satisfy a child’s sense of wonder and curiosity and to evolve with their interests and questions.

It is our belief that God has created us uniquely with differences that contribute to and enrich our community and centre. The centre supports diversity in its staffing decisions and by accommodating the interests and needs of children. People are recognized for their unique strengths and abilities, including those of different cultures, faiths, backgrounds, and physical and cognitive abilities. Every child, parent, and staff member is treated with the respect, dignity, and compassion they deserve.

Open communication between staff, children, and parents/guardians is important for healthy learning. Lilium Village develops trusting and respectful partnerships between staff and parents/guardians to support our shared interest in healthy child development and well-being.

Meal Program

Balanced meals are nut free and are prepared according to the Canada Food Guide.

Mealtimes are:

  • Breakfast – 9:00 am – 9:30 am
  • Lunch – 12:00 am – 12:30 pm
  • Snack – 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm

If a child has an allergy or a special diet parents/guardians are required to bring suitable meals and snacks for their child. Children are encouraged to try a small portion of all foods. Second or third helpings will be given if the child wishes. Snacks are kept light to encourage a healthy appetite for supper.

A four-week menu rotation will be used. The menu is posted on the bulletin board in the children’s locker area.

Childcare fees are established by the Board of Directors and reviewed at least once per year. Parents/guardians are advised of changes to the fee schedule one month in advance.

A deposit of $217.50 per child will be paid by the parent to the Executive Director at the time of enrolment. This deposit ensures the child’s space is held for one month from the date received. If the child has not been attending the centre within that month, the deposit will not be refunded, and the space will not be held. Deposits will be used to pay the last month’s fees upon the termination of the contract.

Children under 6 years of age qualify for the Parent Fee Grant Reduction.

Subsidy

Parents/guardians may be eligible for a Child Care Subsidy. Upon registration, the parent will be given a subsidy application form to fill out and submit by mail or email. The parent will receive a letter from the Government of Saskatchewan within 15 days that states the amount of support available from subsidy and the remaining amount to be paid by the parent. As the parent/guardian, you are required to provide a copy of your subsidy letter to the Executive Director to be kept on file.

Parents/guardians are required to submit their pay stubs to the Government of Saskatchewan for each month they receive childcare from Lilium Village Childcare. You are required to report any changes in your work hours or income to the Government of Saskatchewan immediately. If parents/guardians do not have access to a computer to scan/email, they may ask the Assistant Director for assistance.
